We are holding our first ever Summer Exhibition, hopefully soon to be as important a social event as the one held somewhere in the West End.
We will be showing works by some of the best professional and amateur local artists and photographers. The list of exhibitors include Six Ware Artists, Ware Photographic Society, Simon Balle School, Glanfyll Lewis, Fiona Pruden and Standon Embroiders.
Simon Balle School
Set to be this years star turn, this is a chance to see some of their students best work, done for their recent GCSE's and A levels.
The quality of the photography, painting, textiles, ceramics and other objects these young people have produced is nothing short ot extraordinary. Some of the works here are by students going on to some ot the country's finest art colleges including St Martin's and Westminster.
We think that there must be some new British stars here so don't miss the chance to be among the first to see their powerful, challenging and excellent work.
Six Ware Artists
As the name suggests this is small group of local artist. They work in various media, including paint, photography and ceramics. They held a widely acclaimed exhibition at the centre late last year.
They have been instrumental in the setting up the Summer Exhibition and the Centre thanks them all for their help.
Ware & District Photographic Society
What can we say about this one of Ware Arts Centre's largest groups. Their work is consitently brilliant and varied. They too hold their annual exhibition here at the centre in November and last years exhibition was seen by over 250 people.
Their works include documentary, landscape, portrait, wildlife and more abstract photographic techniques. Always beautiful and intersting to see.
Glanfyll Lewis
Glanfyll is a remarkable local artist who creates amazing digital images using computers. He became interested in this way of creating semi abstract and abstract painting as a result of his architecural training. It is his experience with computer aided design and his belief in process, accident and complexity that drives his creative passion.
Come along to see how he can challanges the traditional stereotype of the artist and the act of creation.
Fiona Pruden
One of the most popular painting classes at the centre, Fiona teaches a watercolour class here evey Wednesday morning. You will be able to see and buy some of her and her students works. Come along to see the talent of this group and find out how you can get involved.
Standon Embroiders
This group proves that we support one of the oldest methods of image making. This group make incredibly beautiful pictures using techniques that have barely changed for hundreds of years. That said their work mixes ancient and modern themes all of which will stand the test of time.
So there you have it, a list local artists that can only impress. So don't miss this opportunity to see all their best work.
